Governor Dickson appoins new permanent secretaries
Posted by: admin - 11-20-2019, 08:34 PM - Forum: politics - No Replies

The outgoing governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson has appointed a new head for the state civil service and 32 new permanent secretaries.
He said the 32 new permanent secretaries would “fill existing vacancies in the state civil service.”
The new acting head of service, Biobelemoye Charles-Onyeama, is believed to be the most senior permanent secretary in Bayelsa civil service.
The former head of service in the state, Luka Obiri, had retired recently, making Charles-Onyeama’s appointment necessary.
A statement on Tuesday by Dickson’s spokesperson, Fidelis Soriwei, said “the appointments are based on seniority in service, meritorious service and fair spread among the local government areas of the state”.
He added that the new permanent secretaries would be sworn in on Friday by Governor Dickson.
The appointment is coming after the All Progressives Congress (APC) last Saturday defeated the state ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Dickson and the PDP have only four months to be in charge of the state as a new government of the APC takes over in February, 2020.

why we voted out PDP government in Bayelsa - Alamieyeseigha's family
Posted by: ArtdizCheef - 11-20-2019, 02:50 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

The family of the late former Bayelsa State Governor, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, has said it worked assiduously with other stakeholders to end the reign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because the incumbent state Governor, Seriake Dickson disappointed the people of the state.
Speaking under the auspices of Alamcoism Movement(AM), the family said Dickson insulted the late Alamieyeseigha and disrespected Ijaw elders in most of his dealings and utterances.
Speaking in Yenagoa, the Director-General, Alamcoism Movement, Ziriworiten Alamieyeseigha , who said the movement started 1999, lamented that the PDP abandoned the template of development and empowerment laid down by the late governor.
“The PDP government disappointed Alamieyeseigha family. The Alamcoism endorsed Seriake Dickson but at the end of the day what did he do? He disappoint the family, insulted Alamcoism. So, we decided that since he failed to respect elders, we should teach him a lesson”, he said.
Alamieyeseigha, who was flanked by principal members of the movement such as the Student Representative, Oyeindoubra Amantari and Director of Planning, Strategy, Abosi Felagha, warned Lyon against breaking his social contract with the people.
He advised Lyon to learn from the past governments, desist from listening to rumours and to focus on human capital development to address the endemic poverty in Bayelsa.
Alamieyeseigha further appealed to the governor-elect to pay attention to the infrastructural development of the state especially the construction of a seaport in Bayelsa.
He also called on Dickson and the PDP to shelve the idea of going to court to challenge the victory of Lyon saying instead of wasting the state money on litigation, they should channel the resources to infrastructural development.
Also speaking, Ebilade, the second son of the late Alamieyesegha, commended the people for rejecting all the offers made to them by the PDP and opted to vote Lyon as the right candidate.
He said: “I told the PDP that their money can’t counter the Alamcoism. We are around the eight local government areas and they saw the result in the eight local government areas. We won six local government areas but in Sagbama, Dickson’s local government area, there was no election.
“In my mother’s village at Ogoibiri, there was no material. It was hijacked by the Sagbama PDP Government. So, Douye Diri only won one local government area and even in that council, we divided the votes.
“People should know that Bayelsans are behind David Lyon and even the court will do nothing when everybody is on the same page. The court is not bigger than Bayelsa State. The whole state has decided and has chosen a candidate.
“We want to advise all the PDP people to reserve that money that they want to use for case and come and build one industry to employ more citizens, because we need more development in this state. They should forget about that court

Seriake Dickson Inaugurates 41-Member Transition Committee
Posted by: admin - 11-20-2019, 02:09 PM - Forum: politics - No Replies

Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson has inaugurated a 41-member Transition Committee in readiness for the inauguration of the incoming administration in the state.

The committee which has the Secretary to the State Government, Kemela Okara, as Chairman, also has Talford Ongolo as Deputy Chairman and Luka Obiri as Secretary.
The committee which includes all serving commissioners, five permanent secretaries and political appointees was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Governor’s Conference Room, Government House, Yenagoa.
A statement by Fidelis Soriwei, Chief Press secretary to Mr Dickson, said the constitution of the Transition Committee was in line with the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Mr Dickson described the governorship election won by the APC on November 16 as a charade.
He, however, noted that irrespective of the outcome of the several initiatives being taken by the PDP, there was still need for a proper handover process to be initiated.
“Knowing that what transpired is not an election, we have to set up a transition committee the first time in our democratic rule.
“I thank God for the grace and enablement for making this possible for eight years and with a lot of achievements,” Mr Dickson said.
According to Mr Dickson, the purpose of the committee is to articulate, record and document all the policies, programmes, projects and achievements of the administration in all sectors in eight years.
“The purpose is to articulate and record all that we have achieved and done in all sectors as a state.
“That’s why all commissioners are part of this committee to enable you to present a scorecard of all our policies and programmes both completed and ongoing projects.”
He said that the outcome of the work would be handed over in various forms to the incoming administration.
He said the achievements of his administration would be a testimony while Bayelsa people were assured of continually enjoying the dividends of democracy.
He thanked members of the committee for their diligence, sacrifice and manner they served his administration.
In his address, the chairman of the committee, Mr Okara, gave the assurance that before the end of the year the committee would complete its assigned task.
The assignment includes the financial position of the state, in terms of assets and liabilities, in a clear document.
He added that they would produce a very thorough and standard report that other states would envy.

Ebenezer Babatope: Jonathan Will Regret Working For APC's Victory In Bayelsa
Posted by: admin - 11-19-2019, 07:01 PM - Forum: politics - No Replies

Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos
Chief Ebenezer Babatope, a former Minister of Transport on Tuesday said former President Goodluck Jonathan will regret working for the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded governorship election in Bayelsa state against his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Babatope also faulted those calling for the resignation of Prince Uche Secondus over the party's loss in Kogi and Bayelsa, saying the APC shamelessly manipulated the elections.
" I hope it is not true that former president Goodluck Jonathan worked against the party in Bayelsa. If he did so, I'm sure that he is going to regret it" he said.
David Lyon of the APC was declared as the governor-elect after defeating Sen. Douye Diri of the PDP.

Beyelsa Election: Douye Diri Asks INEC To Declare Him Winner Of Poll
Posted by: admin - 11-19-2019, 06:56 PM - Forum: politics - No Replies

I’m the authentic winner of Bayelsa gov’ship poll — PDP’s Diri
Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded election in Bayelsa State Senator Douye Diri has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare him winner.
INEC had on Sunday declared APC candidate, Chief David Lyon, as the winner of the election, having polled a total of 352,552 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Douye Diri of PDP who polled 143,172 votes.
Diri, who led some governorship candidates of other political parties to addressed a press conference in Yenagoa, yesterday, said the results obtained from the PDP situation room showed that he was the original winner of the poll, and urged INEC to declare him winner immediately.
According to him, the results from the PDP situation room showed that the party scored a total of 98,502 votes to defeat APC, with 55,903, before the entire results were allegedly later changed in favour of APC.
He said: “INEC should declare my humble self and the PDP as winner of the election, but before we talk about that, I want to express my gratitude to Bayelsans who turned out in their large numbers to exercise their franchise and ensure that the will of the people to elect who should lead them prevailed.
“I am not just saying that PDP is the winner of the just concluded election. You recall that during my press conference yesterday, I informed you that we have a situation room that was monitoring the exercise across all the local governments and all the wards in the state. As we speak today, we have the result of that monitoring,” he said.

APC To Dickson: Stop Making Unguarded Statements, Accept Your Coming Loss

APC To Gov. Seriake Dickson: Stop Making Unguarded Statements, Accept Your Coming Loss
The All Progressives Congress, Bayelsa State Chapter has accused Governor Henry Dickson of making unguarded and spurious statements to sway public opinion against the APC regarding Saturday's governorship polls.
In a statement issued in Yenagoa, the State Chairman of the APC, Hon. Amos Jotham, condemned Governor Dickson for displaying, once again his garrulous character trait which is nothing but offensive.
Hon. Jotham expressed shock that Governor Dickson is calling for the cancellation of results in Nembe and Southern Ijaw and other LGAs that have not been announced, saying that Dickson, in a desperate bid to incite the public and all relevant agencies against the APC, only succeeded in exhibiting sheer ignorance with regard to democratic norms.
The party chairman advised Henry Seriake Dickson to accept the outcome of the elections as a referendum on his lacklustre performance since taking over the leadership of the state almost eight years ago.
Hon. Jotham said it is unbecoming of the governor as the chief security officer of the state to start raising false alarm in an election that his hand picked candidate had earlier declared as “peaceful and smooth”.
According to the APC chairman it is also wrong for Governor Dickson to drag the security agencies into his partisan ranting because they dared to be professional in the discharge of their duties.
The chairman called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and relevant agencies to be wary of Governor Dickson as he has a penchant for deceit.
Hon. Amos Jotham
Chairman, All Progressives Congress, Bayelsa State

6 Crisis a Solopreneur must overcome
Posted by: admin - 11-14-2019, 09:41 AM - Forum: Business - No Replies

The Solopreneur life defines a Solopreneur as:

“A TRUE Solopreneur is an entrepreneur who has developed a business with NO employees, that’s portable, scalable and produces passive income”

If you have a skill, an information and/or knowledge that you give out by yourself in exchange for money then you can be considered a Solopreneur(even without knowing that you are).
Solopreneurship can be a huge challenge for even the most seasoned entrepreneurs that’s why 90% of Solopreneurs get out of business. So here are the crisis you need to overcome to be a part of the 10%
Many people begin their Solopreneur business out of passion, interest, need to make money or a calling. So they concentrate on trying to get better at what they do with the hopes that clients will recognize their proficiency. Clients won’t!! You have to create time were you go out and market your clients. Hone your negotiation skills, increase your PR and make contacts & connections
The key here is to outsource and delegate any activity that is not essential. Give yourself to your core competences, concentrate on the main things and hand the other minor stuffs to helping or paid hands. This does not make you less of a Solopreneur, it gives you time to better your output.
When you work alone time flies and before you know it you are stuck in your room working all day. Your friends become your work tools and furniture. Your work becomes your life. When you sink into that habit it becomes a devastation. You loose touch with relationships. This leads to my next point.
As a Solopreneur -You develop the concept, you write the proposal and still implement it. This can take a whole lot of time. So you need careful management. Get a to do list; break down your plans into workable hourly tasks. A board, calendar, alarm, schedule app on your phone -whatever helps you manage your time and activities.
Remember you are your content marketer for your business so while you do the ground work also remember to do the online work of brand awareness and leads generation, posting and sharing to as many channels as possible. 3 cheapest ways to gain online presence can help you.
As a Solopreneur, you are a (wo)man of many functions, you are a marketer, production director, Head of research and development, head of marketing, head of finance and still the CEO. So you must learn to clone yourself and manage each Clone because the failure of one affects the rest of them. When the marketer fails the finance losses profits.
Do you want to succeed? Do you want to stay alive for longer? Sure?! Then add rest and recreation to your plan. Work hard and play hard
