Yenagoa, September 1, 2025 — The Bayelsa State Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology today held a thanksgiving service at its headquarters in Yenagoa, with the Honorable Commissioner, Hon. Engr. Gibson Edwin Munalayefa, leading management and staff in songs of praise and worship.
Speaking during the service, Hon. Engr. Munalayefa said the gathering was a demonstration of gratitude to God for His faithfulness, mercy, and goodness, as well as the prevailing peace being enjoyed in Bayelsa State.
“More than a year ago, we introduced the tradition of weekly worship and monthly thanksgiving, where staff come together every Monday at 9 a.m. to pray for the State and its leadership,” he stated. “The first Monday of each month has been specially dedicated to corporate worship in this ministry, because gratitude must remain a guiding principle in our lives and service.”
The thanksgiving service also featured an exhortation by Pastor Matthew Odou, who spoke on the theme “A New Beginning” from Isaiah 43:18–19. He encouraged staff to embrace fresh opportunities in September 2025 and beyond.
“God is set to do a new thing in this ministry through your praises,” Pastor Odou declared. “Let go of past challenges and make room for the new blessings He has prepared for you.”
The event concluded with intercessory prayers for His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, and His Excellency, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, alongside their families. Staff prayed for God’s continued blessings, guidance, and protection over their lives as they sustain peace and good governance in the state.
