Bayelsa Receives NUC Accreditation Team.

Bayelsa Government recently received a 4-man Accreditation Team from the National Universities Commission in Yenagoa.
The Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo received the four-member accreditation team from the National Universities Commission (NUC), led by Professor Oladipo Solanke of Ajayi Crowther University.

In his remarks, Senator Ewhrudjakpo who welcomed the team on behalf of his principal, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, , expressed delight over
hosting erudite Professor Solanke and his team, who, according to him were in the state to assess the Niger Delta University’s (NDU) compliance with NUC’s regulatory standards.

He noted that the mission is one of academic evaluation and not a witch-hunt noting that government appreciates their professionalism and objectivity.

Earlier, the Head of the team Professor Solanke commended the administration of Governor Douye Diri for its unwavering commitment to advancing education in Bayelsa State.
He also assured that the team’s final report would be shared with the government.

While responding to questions, Senator Ewhrudjakpo expressed government's desire to receiving the team’s insights, which will help government identify both strengths and areas for improvement as the institution continues to enhance the quality of education in the state.

" As a government, we remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting our premier institution, particularly the Faculty of Law.

He announced that plans are underway to provide additional infrastructure as well as acquiring property for student hostel accommodation to improve the learning environment of students.

" We recognize that no university system is ever perfect, and there is always room for growth ".

The Deputy Governor expressed optimism that constructive feedback from the accreditation process will guide those in authority in making the necessary adjustments to strengthen the Faculty of Law and ensure it meets the highest academic standards.
