Abuja Countdown Begins! Niger Delta Monarch Receives GbaramatuVoice in Grand Style

Earlier today, the Publisher and Managing Director of GbaramatuVoice, Mr. Jacob Abai, led the management team on a courtesy visit to a frontline Niger Delta monarch, His Royal Majesty, King Obukowho Monday Arthur Whiskey (JP), Ph.D, the Ovie of Great Idjerhe Kingdom, at his palace in Idjerhe community, Delta State.

The visit was to officially present the royal invitation to His Majesty ahead of the GbaramatuVoice 10th Anniversary and Niger Delta Night of Honor 2025, scheduled to take place on August 27–28, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

During the visit, GbaramatuVoice also announced that King Whiskey will be conferred with a Royal Award in recognition of his unwavering commitment to peace, unity among traditional institutions, and his remarkable contributions to regional development in the Niger Delta.

In his remarks, the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom poured royal blessings on GbaramatuVoice and congratulated the team: “For the first time in the history of the Niger Delta, we have an indigenous voice telling our stories, the way only we can tell them. GbaramatuVoice has become that voice. Congratulations on your 10-year journey.”

The historic celebration in Abuja will feature a public lecture and the prestigious Niger Delta Night of Honor.

Also present at the palace during the visit were High Chief Uzzi Onosia James Obriki, Otota of Great Idjerhe Kingdom; Chief Captain Kenneth Whiskey, and Hon. Abel Oshevire, former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Ughelli North Constituency II.
