The city of Warri came alive on Saturday, August 2, 2025, as the GIM Brown Foundation (GBF) was officially launched in a grand ceremony held at Ugbuwangue Community, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The foundation, a non-governmental organization, is the brainchild of Chief Brown Odeworitse Tesigimoje, Chairman and CEO of GMB Marine Group. It is established with the aim of supporting the less privileged, empowering Nigerian youths, and caring for widows across communities.

The launch attracted a large crowd, including thousands of women, underprivileged individuals, and young people who gathered to witness the unveiling of the foundation’s vision and programs.

In her address to journalists, the General Manager of the foundation, Mrs. Elsa Brown, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to God and her husband for making the initiative a reality. She stated that the GIM Brown Foundation was born out of a passion to touch lives and restore hope to the underserved population.

“Our goal is to bring smiles to the faces of people who are often neglected. The foundation will focus on creating employment opportunities for the youth, offering financial and material support to widows, and ensuring that those in need receive timely help,” she said.

As part of the foundation’s launch activities, various relief materials were distributed to attendees. These included bags of rice, noodles, garri, vegetable oil, wheelchairs, and crutches. In addition, several individuals received cash gifts to support their personal and family needs.

Many of the beneficiaries, visibly emotional, praised the foundation for its kind gesture. Some offered prayers and expressed appreciation to Chief Brown Tesigimoje and his wife for remembering the poor and vulnerable in society.

The launch of the GIM Brown Foundation marks the beginning of what many described as a life-changing initiative in the Niger Delta, with far-reaching plans to expand its impact across Nigeria.

The event also featured musical performances, cultural displays, and goodwill messages from community leaders and guests, all in celebration of a new chapter in grassroots humanitarian service.
