In commemoration of World Breastfeeding Day, the Rotary Club of Yenagoa City Centre, in partnership with the Michael Eleshin Foundation, organized a special Breastfeeding Awareness Campaign today at the Primary Health Centre, Amarata, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The outreach aimed to educate, empower, and support nursing mothers within the community, emphasizing the critical role breastfeeding plays in reducing infant mortality, boosting immunity, and fostering healthy development in children.
As part of the impactful exercise, participating mothers received essential maternal care items including:
Mosquito nets
Diapers
Other maternal and infant care materials
This humanitarian gesture not only aligns with the global theme of promoting breastfeeding for a healthier planet but also reflects a continued commitment to community health, maternal support, and impactful collaboration between service-driven institutions.
