Bayelsa Works Commissioner Inspects Yenagoa-Oporoma Road, Applauds Progress as Sand Filling Reaches Oporoma

Post by Abigail pereowei »

On Monday, August 25, 2025, the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, ESV Moses Teibowei, conducted an inspection of the ongoing Yenagoa-Oporoma Road project, expressing satisfaction with the significant progress achieved.

Accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Raymond Angaye, and the Director of Civil Engineering, Engr Apurumelala Cliff-Eribo, the Commissioner was guided by representatives of the contractor, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).

The inspection revealed that sand filling has reached Oporoma, with only a small canal separating the road from the community.

Commissioner Teibowei attributed the milestone to the unwavering commitment of Governor Douye Diri towards advancing infrastructure development across Bayelsa State.

He expressed optimism that, by the end of September 2025, the project would achieve a historic breakthrough, allowing auxiliary-enabled vehicles to access Oporoma directly.
