OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BAYELSA STATE VOLUNTEER SECURITY OUTFI

The Chairman of the Bayelsa State Volunteer Security Outfit, High Chief Oyinkuro Lucky Asanakpo, acting under the directive of His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, hereby issues the following statement:

In strict compliance with the directive of His Excellency, all traders and business operators currently carrying out activities at the Tombia- Etegwe Junction road and school road market are required to relocate immediately to the approved trading site along the expressway Glory drive 3.

This relocation has been provided by the State Government to guarantee orderliness, public safety, security and the smooth flow of commercial activities.

However, despite repeated instructions from the Governor, many traders have continued to disregard this directive and remain at the old market site.
Consequently, the Bayelsa State Volunteer Security Outfit and other security agencies has been mandated to enforce compliance with immediate effect.

We strongly appeal to all traders and members of the public to cooperate peacefully with this directive in the overall interest of peace, safety, security and the sustainable development of Bayelsa State.
