The Okpoama Kingdom Council of Chiefs led by High Chief Nathan Egba-Dienagha has commended the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, for the execution of the Nembe-Brass road.

The chiefs said the move to construct the road is a bold step given the swampy mangrove terrain.

The chiefs' commendation was contained in a communique signed by the Chairman, High Chief Nathan Egba-Dienagha and the Secretary, Chief Inenyo Yousuo-Ogbulu, which was issued at the end of their second scheduled meeting in 2025 at Okpoama over the weekend.

The council described the Nembe-Brass road project as pivotal to opening up new frontiers of development in the coastal area, adding that it takes a courageous and fair-minded leader like Governor Diri to take up such a huge challenge.

The Chiefs also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for approving the construction of the second phase of the Nembe-Brass Road project by the Federal Government.

They however urged the construction company—
All Infrastructure Limited—in charge of the second phase of the project to expedite the process for a seemless delivery of the federal government section of the road in order to actualize the government's plan for the area.

On the renovation and upgrading of the Okpoama Mission Jetty, the Chiefs on behalf of the kingdom expressed appreciation to Governor Diri.

The jetty was a safety hazard to the people of Okpoama prior to the state government's intervention, they noted.

The Chiefs further appealed to the people of the Kingdom to continue to remain patient and steadfast, adding that all the issues currently plaguing the Kingdom would be resolved soon.
