Senator Henry Seriake Dickson has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to seek international collaboration, particularly with the United States and Nigeria’s neighbouring countries, to strengthen the fight against terrorism.
Reacting to comments by U.S. President Donald Trump on alleged genocide in Nigeria, sen. Dickson emphasized that terrorism has plagued the nation for nearly 15 years, with groups like Boko Haram, ISWAP, and ISIS affiliates wreaking havoc across several states.
He warned that insurgents still control territories in parts of the North, calling it a direct affront to Nigeria’s sovereignty. Sen.Dickson urged the Federal Government to act decisively, noting that “no nation can defeat terrorism in isolation.”
