Chief Berry Negerese, the leader of the Wind of Progress Forum, was honored yesterday by a condolence visit from the Sagbama Federated Youth Council, led by President Comr. Green Ebibose in Yenagoa, who is also a member of the Wind of Progress Forum. The delegation came to express their sympathies following the recent loss of Chief Berry’s elder cousin, HRH late Chief Ibe Jonathan,Amananaowei of Bisangbene Community in Ekeremor Lga.

Comr. Earnest Dakuru, speaking on behalf of the delegation, conveyed their purpose: to encourage Chief Berry during this difficult time and to acknowledge his contributions to the growth of the Bayelsa West Youth Community. He assured Chief Berry of their continued support for him and his family until the funeral rites are carried out completely.

In a heartfelt response, Chief Berry expressed gratitude for the show of solidarity, stating, "I am speechless for showing me this rare love, especially for coming to identify with me and my family at this critical time." He recognized the visit as an opportunity to connect with the youth of Sagbama, a group he had not deeply engaged with before.

Chief Berry emphasized the importance of relationships that transcend political affiliations, saying, "I don’t build relationships based on politics. This visit is more than just a condolence visit; it’s an opportunity for a better relationship with you and others." He welcomed the members of the youth council as friends and allies.

Reflecting on his bond with his late cousin, he noted, "There are brothers and there are friends, but when a brother becomes a friend, it’s hard to break such relationships." He described his late cousin as a close confidant and expressed sincere appreciation for the delegation’s visit.

Concluding his remarks, Chief Berry embraced the Sagbama youth as his new family, stating, "You have come with a very pure heart in solidarity of condolences, but I will come to celebrate you, as death won’t be the reason for us to meet."

This visit not only provided comfort to Chief Berry but also laid the groundwork for a strengthened alliance between the Wind of Progress Forum and the Sagbama Federated Youth Council, fostering unity and collaboration in the community.
