The Bayelsa State Ministry of Labour, Employment and Productivity in collaboration with the National Directorate of Employment has announced the commencement of the Second phase of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative.
A statement by Bayelsa State Commissioner for Labour, Employment and Productivity, Hon. Odoko Saturday Omiloli disclosed that the National Directorate of Employment would engaged Twenty-One Thousand, Seven Hundred and Eighty- Two (21,782) unemployed persons for skill jobs training such as; Vocational Skills Development (VSD) SCHEMES in Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (B-NOAS, Fashion, Catering, Electrical Installation, Make Over, , Techno Cultural, Cap making and Computer, Soap Making and Fashion for People With Disability/Special Needs (PWD).
According to the Hon. Omiloli, others areas of training will include; Rural Employment Promotion (REP) Scheme; Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS), Community Based Agricultural Training Scheme (CBATS), Micro/Livestock Agricultural Training Scheme (MATS), Organic Agricultural Training Scheme (OATS), Small Stock Goat Production Training Scheme (SSGPTS), Fish Production Training Scheme (FPTS).
The Commissioner added that the programme also have Special Public Work (SPW) programmes such as Graduate Attachment Programme (GAP), Graduate Coaching Scheme (GCS), Artisan in Collaboration Construction Employment Scheme (ACCES), Environmental Beautification Training Scheme and Resettlement. (EBTS) and Solar Energy Training Scheme and Resettlement (SETS).
The Labour Commissioner listed Small Scale Enterprises (SSE) like Start Your Own Business (SYOB), NDE-enterprise and finance counseling clinics (NDE-efcc), Micro Enterprise Enhancement Scheme (MEES) Women Employment Branch (WEB) (income Generating. For Women Only) as part of the training menu for the second phase Renewed Hope Employment Initiative.
Interested applicants of Bayelsa State origin between the age of 16-40 years of age who have not benefited from similar programmes are advised to approach the Bayelsa State Ministry for Labour Employment and Productivity Secretariat Annex or the National Directorate of Employment office, Federal Secretariat Complex, Yenagoa for registration form and necessary inquires.
