Hon. Igali stated this during the ceremony marking the formal retirement, and 60th Birthday Anniversary of the Director at the multipurpose hall of the Sampson Siasia Sports complex.
Hon. Igali said, Sir Wodi's work pattern proved that dedication and astuteness has a place in victory and success in all human endeavours.
The Commissioner commended the retiring Director for his knowledge in the management of athletes and his overall contributions to the development of sports in the state.
He recalled that previous Commissioners of Sports including His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri had praised Director for being in the forefront of service delivery during their times as Commissioners of sports in the state.
Chief Igali used the occasion to announce the appointment of Sir Wodi as Special Aide, urging the next Director of Sports to emulate the team playing spirit of the retiring staff.
In his speech the Technical Adviser to the Bayelsa State Governor on Sports, Honourable Alaowei Opukeme, told Sir Wodi to keep up the good gesture that has earned him all the accolades as he retires from service.
Hon. Opukeme, urged Sir Wodi not to rest on his successes as he still has much to contribute in the sporting sector.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Sports Development, Ambassador Grace Alagoa described Sir Braveman Wodi, as a round peg in a round hole.
She praised him for his administrative qualities and wished him well in all his future endeavours.
Responding, the outgoing Director of Sports, Sir Braveman Wodi thanked the Commissioner and the Ministry for celebrating him adding that he was overwhelmed by the show of love from all that came to grace the occasion.
Highlights Oof the occasion was the decoration of the retiring Director with all the previous medals won by Team Bayelsa under his watch as Director of Sports, coupled with display by Boys Brigade band, demonstrations of karate, Kunfu and Boxing sports.
