In a bold and united move to restore peace and security, Amarata community, under the leadership of its Paramount Ruler, Chief Sam David, on Monday staged a massive peace walk across the community aimed at raising awareness and sending a strong message to cultists and criminal elements wreaking havoc in the area.
The peace walk, which witnessed a large turnout of community leaders, youths, and concerned residents, was described as a declaration of war against all forms of criminality within Amarata.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Sam David condemned the rising incidents of cult-related violence and criminal acts, stressing that the community has reached a breaking point. “We have resolved as a people to take decisive and uncompromising action against anyone caught disturbing the peace of our land. Amarata is no longer a safe haven for criminals,” the Chief stated.
He further warned all cults, Greenland, IceLand and Bobos to vacate the community immediately, adding that traditional authorities, in collaboration with local security outfits and youths will now take proactive steps to flush out undesirable elements from the community.
The Youth President of Amarata, Comrade Izibeya Excel, echoed the Chief’s sentiments, vowing that the days of impunity are over. “It is not going to be business as usual. We will go from house to house to fish out those involved in cultism and violence. Amarata youths are tired of the killings, intimidation, and fear. We are taking back our community,” Comr. Excel declared.
Joining the call for action was globally recognized youth leader and proud indigene of Amarata, Comrade Gifted Natus, who introduced the campaign dubbed “Operation Set Amarata Free.” According to him, no one will be spared not even indigenes found complicit in disrupting the community’s peace. “We are starting from within. Anyone, whether born here or not, who is involved in cultism or criminal acts will face the full wrath of the community,” he said.
Several other respected youth leaders and community stakeholders lent their voices in solidarity, pledging their support for the initiative and urging residents to cooperate fully with the security efforts.
The atmosphere during the walk was one of unity and determination, with participants holding placards bearing inscriptions like “Say No to Cultism,” and “Amarata Must Be Free.”
As the fight against crime intensifies, the Amarata community is calling on security agencies, civil society, and neighboring communities to support their cause and work together to ensure lasting peace in the region.
