GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION EXERCISE FOR AUGUST 2025

Post by Abigail pereowei »

The general public is hereby informed that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise will hold tomorrow, Saturday, 30th August 2025.

All residents are expected to:

*Clean their immediate surroundings

*Cut overgrown grasses

*Clear gutters, drainages, and natural waterways to allow free flow of water

Residents are strictly advised to evacuate refuse and waste materials, especially those removed from drainages and canals, and dispose of them properly at the nearest approved dump site or receptacle. This is to prevent such waste from being washed back into the drains.

Please note that movement will be restricted from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Playing of football and riding of bicycles during this period is strictly prohibited.

The Environmental Sanitation Authority appreciates the cooperation of all communities within the Yenagoa metropolis for their continued support and mobilization during previous exercises.

Special appreciation goes to the leadership of the various trading units in Swali Main Market, Kpansia, Opolo, Etegwe, and other markets across the city, for their commitment to ensuring full compliance and active participation of their members.

We also use this opportunity to invite corporate organizations to partner with the government in our shared mission of maintaining a clean and healthy environment.

Keeping our environment clean is a collective responsibility.
Let us all work together to make Bayelsa State clean and green.

Signed:
High Chief Timothy Diekivie Itiedu
Chairman, Environmental Sanitation Authority.
