Southern Ijaw Council Holds Monthly Security Council Meeting.

In pursuant to the ASSURED PROSPERITY AGENDA as it concerns security of life and properties in the State, the Executive Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Council, Hon. Target Isaiah Segibo presided over the Monthly Security Council Meeting, of the Southern Ijaw Local Government Council, which brought together conventional service chiefs and other stakeholders across the various security formations in the LGA.

The Council deliberated on the following key issues:
1. On Ikebiri Suspended Paramount Ruler;
Council reslved that State Government has fully taken over the matter with the aim of providing a clear policy directive to ensure lasting resolution.

2. On Agoubiri alleged Murder Case;
Council revealed that an autopsy is underway to establish the true cause of death, whether natural or otherwise; also that Council is providing full financial support to the deceased’s family pending the outcome of the investigation.

3. On Osokoama murder incident arising from domestic dispute;
The incident, reportedly triggered by a fight between two females, was extensively discussed.
Mr Chairman said Council is mediating between the affected parties and has undertaken financial responsibilities to ensure adequate settlement with the deceased’s family.

4. On Southern Ijaw Federated Youth Council (SFYC) – ELECO Inauguration;
Following a briefing by the DPO, Oporoma Division, regarding conflicting interests in the Constituency 2 ELECO nomination, the Chairman resolved to engage directly with the stakeholders involved.
The aim is to amicably resolve the disputes to guarantee a peaceful and successful election.

The Council reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace, security, and justice across the Local Government Area, while also ensuring that all disputes are handled in a fair and transparent manner.
