First Daily @ 5: Gracing Our Anniversary Made It Unique —Publisher Hails Dignitaries, Friends, Supporters

The management and staff of First Daily have expressed profound gratitude to all dignitaries, friends, and well-wishers who joined in celebrating the organisation’s 5th Anniversary in grand style.

The milestone event, themed “How Can We Make Our Votes Count?”, was held on Monday at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, drawing an impressive array of political leaders, media executives, and members of the public.

In a statement personally signed by the Publisher, Dr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, First Daily conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the distinguished personalities whose presence added immense honour and colour to the celebration.

Foremost among the dignitaries were the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah; the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara; and the Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal, represented by his Private Secretary, Mr. Femi Sheripdeen.

The statement lauded Governor Diri for his unwavering support for the First Daily brand since its inception, commended Governor Fubara for his interest in the publication’s growth, and acknowledged the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, for his continuous encouragement.

Also in attendance was former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, represented by serial entrepreneur and founder of Zeetin Engineering, Mr. Azibaola Robert, whose remarks revisited Nigeria’s electoral journey and the lessons learned from past political experiences.

First Daily equally extended appreciation to former Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, and former Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, whose presence underscored their enduring commitment to media excellence and the pursuit of credible elections in Nigeria.

Other notable attendees included the National Chairman of PANDEF, Ambassador Godknows Igali; former Director-General of NIMASA, Dr. Dakuku Peterside; members of the House of Representatives; Hon. Rodney Ambaowei, Hon. Donald Ojogo, and Hon. Mitema Obordor (represented); as well as former Senator Emmanuel Paulker, Prof. Steve Azaiki, and former Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government, Mr. Kemela Okara.

The Publisher also acknowledged the keynote speaker, Dr. Sam Amadi, the panel moderator, Maupe Ogun-Yusuf, and panelists; Majeed Dahiru, Gloria Ballason, Samson Itodo, Frank Tietie, Randy Peterz, alongside the Masters of Ceremony, Ohi Alegbe and Victor Benewari, for their roles in making the discussions engaging and insightful.

Dr. Iworiso-Markson further extended appreciation to veteran journalist Donu Kogbara, several media executives and editors, Hajiya Tanko Yakassai, the Abuja Chapter of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), and numerous friends and supporters, particularly those who travelled from Bayelsa State for their solidarity and support.

He described their presence as “a powerful testament to the collective belief in the mission of First Daily to promote truth, development, and responsible journalism.”

“We are deeply humbled by the show of love and solidarity from leaders, colleagues, and friends across the country. Your support continues to inspire us to uphold the highest standards of journalism and remain a trusted voice for the Niger Delta and the nation,”Iworiso-Markson stated.
