The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced the commencement of voter registration for the 2025–2026 cycle ahead of the upcoming general elections.
At a press briefing held at the INEC Borno State Secretariat, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Abubakar Ahmad Ma’aji, unveiled the schedule of activities, including the public display of the voters’ register.
Online pre-registration will begin on 18th December, 2025, while physical registration will start on 25th December 2025. The exercise will run in three phases and will include an update of voter records and is expected to end 17th of August 2026.
