YENAGOA, BAYELSA STATE – 07/09/2025 – The Ogbuku Progressive Network (OPN) has announced a major strategic restructuring aimed at expanding its grassroots presence to every community in the Niger Delta region. The announcement was made by the organization's Chairman, Comrade Igwe Walson Emaolamu, during a pivotal stakeholders' meeting held in Yenagoa today.
The meeting, which convened key stakeholders and coordinators from across the state, served as a platform to chart a new course for inclusive development advocacy.
In his keynote address, Chairman Emaolamu commended the unwavering dedication of the network's grassroots coordinators, describing them as the "engine room" of the organization. He emphasized that their efforts are vital in bridging the gap between the transformative development programs of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the citizens at the grassroots level.
The Chairman outlined that the comprehensive overhaul of the network's coordination system is designed to fortify OPN’s infrastructure at the community, ward, and Local Government Area (LGA) levels across all Niger Delta states. This initiative ensures that no community is excluded from benefiting from the current development schemes being executed under the leadership of the NDDC's Managing Director/CEO, Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.
“The presence of the Ogbuku Progressive Network in every community is not just a goal; it is our mandate,” stated Comrade Emaolamu. “We are the supportive image and the tangible dividend of the democratic legacy being built by Dr. Ogbuku. This restructuring ensures we can effectively carry that message and its benefits to every door.”
The OPN reaffirms its core commitment to acting as the primary bridge between the people of the Niger Delta and the developmental agenda of the NDDC, ensuring that the region’s transformative progress is felt by all.
