Senator Dickson Bags Outstanding Lawmaker Of The Year Award Of First Daily Newspaper

The former governor of Bayelsa State and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, has received an Award of Excellence as the Outstanding Lawmaker Of The Year 2025 of First Daily Newspaper.

The award of honor and excellence was presented to the nationalist, during the 5th anniversary annual public lecture of First Daily Newspaper, as recognition and commendation for his exceptional representation and sound contributions on vital issues in the Senate.

The annual public lecture which took place at Abuja on Monday, 10th of October, had in attendance of prominent leaders, government officials, political leaders, including leaderships of non-governmental organizations, and others.

In his remarks, Senator Dickson thanked the organizers and team of First Daily Newspaper for the award of recognition of public service, and the honor to share his views in the annual public lecture, and as chairman of the event.

He used the medium to encourage Bayelsans to show support and solidarity to one another, and stressed the great need for mostly the youths to develop themselves professionally in academical fields to compete internationally.

In his remarks, the Publisher of First Daily Newspaper, Dr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, said the award of excellence is a little recognition of Senator Dickson's exceptional leadership and sound contributions towards a better Nigeria.

He noted that he learnt a lot from the former governor while serving as his aide in the restoration government. He stated that his success story in the private sector won't be complete without acknowledging the tremendous contributions of Senator Dickson.

Few dignitaries were the President of PANDEF, Ambassador Godknows Boladei Igali, former governor of Rivers State, and former Minister of Transportation, Chief Rotimi Amaechi, and other notable leaders.
