Bayelsa State Volunteers Security Outfit Parades Two Suspects.

The Bayelsa State Volunteers Security Outfit has successfully apprehended and paraded two suspects in connection with a robbery incident that occurred in the early hours of Friday, 7th November 2025, at Temo Hotel, located along Tombia–Amassoma Road, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Suspect 1:
• Name: Mr. Preye Dougu
• State of Origin: Bayelsa
• LGA: Southern Ijaw
• Residential Address: Erepa Road, Yenagoa
• Age: 29
Suspect 2:
• Name: Mr. Pedro James
• State of Origin: Bayelsa
• LGA: Ekeremor
• Residential Address: Opolo Market Road, Yenagoa
• Age: 35
According to eyewitness accounts, three men — identified as Mr. Preye Dougu, Mr. Pedro James, and one other accomplice currently at large — had lodged at Temo Hotel before allegedly breaking into the ceiling and carting away electrical wires valued at ₦360,000.
The stolen items included:
• 6mm Cutis
• 4mm Cutis
• 2.5mm Cutis
• 1.5mm Cutis
• Load wire (2.5mm)
• Single core Cutis (black & red)
According to the hotel owner, this was not the first time such an incident had occurred; it was reportedly the third robbery incident at the facility.
Upon receiving the report, operatives of the Bayelsa State Volunteers Security Outfit immediately launched an investigation on Saturday, 8th November 2025. In a swift operation, the suspects — Mr. Preye Dougu (29) and Mr. Pedro James (35) — were intercepted and arrested along Tombia–Amassoma Road. They were subsequently brought to the Volunteers’ operational base at Tombia–Etegwe Roundabout for interrogation.
During questioning, both suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime and provided valuable information aiding efforts to apprehend the remaining accomplices. The suspects further revealed that the stolen electrical materials had already been sold to a buyer identified as “a Hausa man.”
In line with established procedure, the two suspects have been handed over to Operation Doo Akpo for further investigation and possible prosecution.
