Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on Monday inspected the ongoing bridge project connecting Abua/Odual, Ahoada-East, and Emohua Local Government Areas.
The bridge, located at Agba-Ndele, is designed to ease travel time and improve connectivity between the communities and Port Harcourt.
Governor Fubara commended Setraco for the quality of work on the bridge but expressed dissatisfaction with the contractor handling the road from the bridge to the East-West Road, citing poor performance and lack of capacity.
He vowed to review the contract to ensure value for money.
The Governor said the project aligns with his “Rivers First” vision of linking all parts of the state to promote economic growth and ease movement of goods and services.
He also announced plans to include the rehabilitation of the Ahoada-Abua Road in the 2026 budget.
