Gov. Nwifuru didn’t mince words—he warned that public service in Ebonyi will no longer be a “safe haven for negligence, absenteeism, and complacency.” His move is being interpreted by political observers as a message that no one is above the rules, and loyalty to duty is non-negotiable.
Names affected include high-profile commissioners such as Prof. Leonard Uguru, Engr. Stanley Mbam, Barr. Ikeuwa Omebe, and Hon. Victor Chukwu, alongside dozens of others in sensitive posts.
This unprecedented purge is already generating intense reactions across the state. Supporters hail it as a “bold leadership decision”, while critics are questioning the long-term impact on morale and stability within the administration.
